To earn a Class D license, you must complete 40 hours of approved training at a licensed training school like Donald Security School Academy. The curriculum includes Florida law, patrol procedures, report writing, emergency response, public relations, and more.

What Is a Class G Security License?
The Class G license is for armed security officers. This means you are authorized to carry a firearm while performing your duties. You must first obtain a Class D license before applying for a G license.

- Armed guards at high-risk facilities
- Bodyguard services
- Cash transport security (armored truck services)
- Armed patrol units
To qualify for the G license, you must complete 28 hours of state-approved firearms training, which includes classroom instruction, shooting range practice, and a written exam. Instructors must be certified law enforcement firearms trainers.
